5 Songs That Made Divya Bharti A True Bollywood Legend

Divya Bharti made her debut while studying at Maneckji Cooper High School in the ninth standard. Her childish nature put many hurdles for film-makers trying to release her. As a result, she was only able to shoot a Telugu film ‘Bobbili Raja’ in the summer of 1990, which became a colossal hit.

After an initial thrust to her short career, she married Sajid Nadiadwala at age of 18. Bharti went on achieving great success post marriage with the movies like ‘Deewana’ and ‘Shola Aur Shabnam’ in the year 1992 (the same year she made her Bollywood debut and got married).

Her commercial success in Deewana garnered her the ‘Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut’. She completed a marathon of over 14 Hindi films between 1992 and early 1993, which still remains a record. Before her demise at age of 19, she starred in numerous Hindi and Telugu hits. A temple was built in South India in honor of this young & beautiful diva.
